Hey Ya’ll! I’m Deonna and I write the Child at Heart blog. I am a stay-at-home mom and LOVE it but that means we are a “one income” family for now. I love to share how to have a house that shows your unique personality and how to give thoughtful gifts to those you love without breaking the bank. I also like to encourage other women to become the person that God wants them to be!

Okay now for a few little facts about me:
My life in 2 sentences: I grew up in New Mexico, went to college in Lubbock, TX, and married a Texas boy! I am a proud police wife and mommy to one little cutie.
Favorite places to travel: I’ve been to Australia, Italy, Japan and a few other places but one of my favorite vacation spots is Puerto Rico!
High School days: I was in show choir before show choir was cool, was a proud member of the FFA, and showed sheep and chickens in the county fair 🙂 Just ask me sometime how to show a chicken!
Favorite foods: Dr. Pepper is now and forever will be my favorite drink! I love Mexican food which is a good thing since I live in El Paso, TX. As far as treats go, I could eat popcorn and Dove dark chocolate until I was sick.
I collect scarves…and I mean I have about 65 or 70! I probably have every color and style but I just keeping finding another one that I NEED 🙂
My favorite craft supplies are acrylic paint, spray paint, wood, lace, and bright patterned scrapbook paper.
My idea of a perfect day alone is grabbing some Chick-Fil-A and a Dr. Pepper and going to craft stores all day long…and a spa appointment to close the day! Would I have time for a Disney movie too?
My style: I am equal parts southwest, boho, and All-American girl. I love dark red, orange, coral, gray, and white and the more pattern, the better!
If I could choose one store to shop in for the rest of my life it would be World Market. (Since I’m a crafter I would obviously still get to shop at Michaels, Hobby Lobby, and Joann’s right??)
Why I blog: This all started as just a fun place for me to share my pictures with family but it’s grown into SO much more. I love sharing my projects and faith with my readers and inspiring them to create and learn more about God every day. If I blogged for 20 years and one person came to know Christ through this blog, it would all be worth it to me 🙂
